Village-visit
For History the SMIS students of Grade 2 have been studying the life and contributions of Florence Nightingale. Having reflected on her mood, determination, God-consciousness and mission the children felt inspired to also engage in some type of charity/community welfare work. The children have collected items such as toys and clothes which they wish to distribute to those in need. They have chosen a village in Godrumadvipa. Having understood that real welfare work does not end with meeting the bodily/psychological demands they have brainstormed on how to give them Krishna-consciousness to make their welfare work activity “purna-purna” fully complete. The decided that because the December book marathon is coming up they could distribute Srila Prabhupada’s books while distributing the toys and clothes. In this way both the students as well as the village-community will benefit eternally.
