As part of the week long Vyasa puja celebrations in Mayapur, the students and teachers of Sri Mayapur International School held a Vyasa puja ceremony on Friday 15th August. The school commenced its new academic year on Monday 11th August and everyone took the opportunity to end the week on a blissful note by glorifying our Founder Acarya.
Every student from Year 1 to Year 12 wrote a Vyasa puja offering and selected children read their heartfelt homages to Srila Prabhupada, some of these were in the form of poems and songs. There were bhajans, songs and a dance by different students as well as rememberances of Srila Prabhupada by his disciples. This was followed by an abhisek organised by the ashram boys and a large feast which the students helped prepare.
The following is a comment by a disciple of Srila Prabhupada on Facebook later that day :
Attended the Sri Mayapur International School (SMIS) Srila Prabhupada Vyasapuja ceremony this morning and afternoon, A real pleasure to see about 300 Kids and 150 parents and teachers glorify our founder-acarya Srila Prabhupada with poems, offerings, dance recitals, songs and great enthusiasm. I was honored to speak of my remembrances of Srila Prabhupada at Dallas Gurukula. Nice to see the growth of Gurukulas and schools all over the world and to be so close to a really fine one here in Sri Dham Mayapur!
