Several parents have voiced their concerns about the length of the lunch time at SMIS. Parents whose children eat at home often have difficulty in finishing their lunch and returning their children to school by 2.00pm.
 
Some teachers also felt that 50 minutes did not give sufficient time for the children to have some free recreation time after their lunch break also before returning to their classes.
 
In response to there requests, we have extended the lunch by ten minutes to one hour from next Monday 4th January. This will mean each period move back ten minutes, and school will now finish at 3.30pm instead of 3.20 pm.
 
The new timetable will then look like this from lunch time.
 
1.10pm Lunch break
2.10pm Period six
2.50pm Period seven
3.30pm End of school
